Today's JOKE: A lady was expecting the plumber; he was supposed to come at ten o'clock. Ten o'clock
came and went; no plumber; eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, one o'clock; no plumber. She concluded he wasn't coming,
and went out to do some errands.
While she was out, the plumber arrived.
He knocked on the door; the lady's parrot, who was at home in a cage by the door, said, "Who is it?" He replied,
"It's the plumber." He thought it was the lady who'd said, "Who is it?" and waited for her
to come and let him in. When this didn't happen he knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?"
He said, "It's the plumber!" He waited, and again the lady didn't come to let him in. He knocked again,
and again the parrot said, "Who is it?" He said, "It's the plumber!!!!!!!!" Again he
waited; again she didn't come; again he knocked; again the parrot said, "Who is it?"; "Aarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!"
he said, flying into a rage; he pushed the door in and ripped it off its hinges. He suffered a heart attack and he fell dead
in the doorway.
The lady came home from her errands, only to see the door ripped off its hinges
and a corpse lying in the doorway, "A dead body!" she exclaimed, "Who is it?!" The parrot
said, "It's the plumber."

PLUMBING TIPS: Is your
older washing machines still plumbed with the original, black rubber plumbing hoses? If so, check
the hoses for signs of wear. These older hoses are often worn and in danger of bursting, flooding your home in
just minutes. We recommend installing new plumbing hoses made of braided stainless steel, especially if you’re
in an area where the water pressure is high*.
Of course, you run the same risk if your home still has older plumbing supply lines at a
toilet, kitchen or bath faucet, or any plumbing fixture. Replace old plumbing supply lines and hoses
before you're faced with major water damage, as a part of your HVAC-PLUMBING home maintenance program. This
is especially important since many home insurance policies don't cover some or even all damage from aged and deteriorated
plumbing.
*And, don't forget to ask one of our expert plumbers about a pressure regulating valve (PRV) if your home does have high water pressure. High water pressure can cause damage even to new plumbing fixtures and
fittings. One of our plumbing technicians can do a simple, inexpensive test on your home's water pressure and let you
know exactly what your pressure is.
SLOW DRAINS? Don't
use a drain cleaner. Some chemical cleaners are caustic and may contribute to the deterioration
of your plumbing drain pipes. And caustic drain cleaners have inherent safety risks
from burns or chemical reactions. In addition, chemical cleaners can actually make a clog worse
by turning the clog into a solid, congealed mass!
Call our DRAIN CLEANING DEPARTMENT and have your plumbing drains mechanically cleaned (snaked) instead. Once the drains have been cleared using
the proper equipment, it's fine to use an enzyme treatment periodically to help prevent a the problem from recurring.
A LEAKY HOT WATER HEATER almost
always indicates something is wrong with the waterheater. Avoid major safety and comfort issues for
your home and family; have the heater checked immediately if you discover a leak. If only a small amount
of water is leaking from the heater, it may be simply condensation around the outside of the water heater
- a reaction of hot water with cold temperatures (fairly common in colder temperatures, and not a
cause for concern).
If you notice water below the pressure relief valve,

Trim Utility Costs by Reducing Hot Water Use Want
to cut your utility costs? One easy way is to use less hot water. Now, don't panic! There are ways
to decrease hot water usage without resorting to cold showers and without a sacrifice of personal hygiene!
Take a look at some of the ways you can reduce hot water consumption
in your home, and lower your utility costs. First,
the obvious. If your hot water heater is leaking, have it replaced. Unfortunately, repairing a leaky water
heater is not usually an option. But, we have very affordable prices on all sizes and types (electric or
gas) water heaters. And a more efficient waterheater, properly maintained to last the expected lifespan of
the heater, is a smart upgrade to your home. Find out more about a new Hot Water Heater. Older shower heads often use as much as 6 to
10 gallons of water per minute (gpm)! This is a tremendous waste of hot water. Replacing an old showerhead
with a newer one that provides a comfortable shower yet uses only 2.2 gpm is a smart, cost-cutting move. We can
install a new low-flow shower head for you today that will reduce wasted hot water and start saving you $$$ right away.
IS YOUR OLDER TOILET WASTING WATER? A leaking toilet is often the biggest water waster in any home. "20 percent of (toilets)
are leaking at any one time".... "The number one customer service complaint (to water companies) is an unexpectedly
high bill, and nine out of 10 times the reason is a leaky toilet." There's a simple test you can do
to find out if your toilet is leaking. See more.
