REGULAR MAINTENANCE OF YOUR FURNACE - AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
CAN HELP YOU AVOID UNNECESSARY REPAIRS

Your FURNACE - HEATING SYSTEM should be professionally checked twice a year to ensure that it's working properly and to help extend the life of the unit.  MANY HEATER-AC REPAIRS CAN BE AVOIDED BY PROPER MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE.

Visit our FURNACE Repair & Service Page for more information and special offers.

Having your FURNACE-AC system serviced and maintained on a regular basis will not only keep it running more efficiently, it may decrease your energy costs.   Dirty coils and low FREON levels can cause your system to run longer to reach or maintain temperature - and this costs you money!  And may shorten the life of the unit.

Worse, an electric Heater-Air Conditioner that is drawing high amps can overheat and fail just when you need it most!!

Your Heating System, whether it's a split system or a package unithas many mechanical and electrical components that need regular maintenance.  Like your automobile, your Furnace needs to be serviced periodically so that it will function efficiently and last the full intended lifespan. Professional maintenance on your HVAC System can help you avoid costly repairs. Your Heater also needs regular professional cleaning.  How often the Furnace needs to be cleaned can depend on how frequently the filters are changed, but certainly your Gas or Electric Furnace should be serviced and cleaned at least once a year, at the beginning of the cold season.

Stevens Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning has been providing expert service and repair in the valley since 1982.  Our technicians are experienced at servicing, installing or repairing all types of HEATING Systems, including HEAT PUMPS but also gas or electric FURNACES and PROPANE SYSTEMS.  No matter what type of system you have, no matter what make or model your system is, we can help.  And, be sure to check out our current special offers on HEATER REPAIRS or on a new HEATING SYSTEM!

Our professional, seasonal maintenance on your Furnace  can help ensure your system will run reliably and efficiently and may help extend the lifespan of your Heating and Air Conditioning System.

Call us today to schedule to have your Heating and Air Conditioning System services.
And don't forget to ask about our AC-HEAT-PLUMBING SYSTEM MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTS, which will help you maintain all your home's systems,
and save you $$$.

NEED A NEW FURNACE - AC SYSTEM INSTALLED?

If you should need a new HEATING and AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, be sure to check out our $250 OFF special (see
FURNACE-AC Repair Specials page).  We're sure we can save you money on the installation of your new HEATER-AIR CONDITIONER.

But remember, b
efore purchasing a new system, be sure to get the advice of one of our HEATER-AC expert technicians regarding BTU and SEER ratings, furnace efficiency (AFUE), as well as the appropriate size and make of units which are currently available for installation at your home.  You can read more about BTU (capacity) and SEER (efficiency) and AFUE ratings, as well as see our current special discount offers, at our
FURNACE-AC Repair Specials page.

And any new heating and air conditioning system purchased from Stevens Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning is fully guaranteed, of course.
We also service and repair evaporative cooling units (evap coolers).  And we provide heat pump repair service as well as new heat pump installations.  In fact, ac heat pumps are one of our specialties and you'll find a special offer you can use to save when you have us fix your a/c heat pump (click on the Repair Heat Pump link - above).

WHY SHOULD YOU USE A LICENSED PLUMBING - AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTOR?

It's important for several reasons to always be sure any plumbing or home air conditioning repair-service-maintenance or installation contractor you hire to do work at your home is licensed according to the requirements of the State of Arizona.  First, you have assurance that a licensed HVAC repair contractor is qualified to do the work.  Licensed A/C contractors have been tested and have proven they know their trade.  Second, a licensed contractor is required to post a bond, a monetary assurance against default or defect which can be accessed through the Arizona State Registrar of Contractors (ROC).  Third, the ROC will investigate complaints against a contractor and require follow up action in the event the job is not done correctly or completely.  A licensed contractor can have his license revoked if he fails to perform according to the standards enforced by the ROC.

Many people think checking with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is sufficient protection when hiring a Plumber or AC Repair Company.  While we certainly recommend homeowners check with the BBB, and our company has been members of the BBB for many years, we want to point out that the BBB is NOT a governing body and has no power to enforce laws or construction codes.  The BBB may give you valuable information about a company you are considering hiring, but in the end they cannot provide any protection or enforcement of building codes and standards should a problem arise with your plumbing or AC repair or installation.

Stevens Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning is licensed, bonded and insured.  We invite you to check into our record with the Arizona State Registrar of Contractors.

IMPORTANT TIP FROM YOUR EXPERT PHOENIX PLUMBER:

The temperature and pressure relief  (T & P) valve on your hot water heater should be checked periodically to be sure it's functioning. Did you hear about  a dangerous incident that occurred not too long ago at a Phoenix AZ home?  Due to a plugged T&P valve, a WATER HEATER BLEW UP!!  Don't take chances when it comes to safety.  Consult the operating manual for your water heater, or call our office and ask one of our plumbers about how you can check the T & P valve. If the valve does not work, have it replaced immediately.

Do you need a Plumber or Plumbing Contractor?

Plumbers and Plumbing Contractors are not necessarily the same, although many homeowners may not realize the distinction. When you have a leaky faucet, a clogged drain, or another simple, common plumbing problem, you'll most likely want to call a local plumber.  A plumber who specializes in these types of repairs is more apt to quickly recognize the fixture or fitting you have and know exactly the right parts needed, and the right approach to the repair.  On the other hand, when you have a major plumbing problem or need new plumbing installed in an addition or during a major remodeling project, you may want to look for a Plumbing Contractor who has the specialized knowledge required for that type of retrofit or installation.

Knowing whether you should call a Plumber or a Plumbing Contractor when it comes to plumbing problems in your home is an important decision.  Many Plumbers are not licensed or qualified to do major plumbing.  Many Plumbing Contractors do not take on small plumbing repairs.  So, how do you know what to do?  Why not call Stevens Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.

We're a licensed local Plumber and are always available to do small repairs at your home.  We offer fast, on-time service and we know residential repair plumbing.  Our technicians can quickly analyze your plumbing problem and save you both time and money.

And, we are also licensed Plumbing Contractors with a long-standing reputation for excellent quality on major plumbing jobs like Repiping, Remodeling, etc.  You can check our reputation for yourself at both the Better Business Bureau, where we've been members for years and have an A+ rating, and with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.

Whether you need a licensed Plumber for a minor repair, or a licensed Plumbing Contractor for major repair or installation, we know you'll be happy with our service.  Call us first.

PLUMBING REPAIR VS MAINTENANCE

Many homeowners are aware of the advisability of regular maintenance on their air conditioning and heating system to help keep the system clean, and working properly with optimal effectiveness and efficiency.  They know this small investment can bring a large savings of energy costs over the life of their air conditioning and heating system.

Well, that also applies to your home's plumbing system.  Small leaks in your plumbing system, left undetected, can lead to mold or rotting of wood framing at the site of the leak.  And these leaks can, over time, become large enough or continue long enough to cause major water damage to your home.  Damage that may not be covered by your homeowners's insurance, as most policies only cover damage from sudden causes and/or accidents, not damages which occur over time due to wear and tear and lack of proper maintenance.   Also, even minor leaks waste water.  Has your water bill increased without explanation?  Do you have low water pressure at any of your pluming fixtures?  You may have a leak.

Another maintenance item is water flex/hoses to toilets, sinks, appliances, etc.  which should be inspected occasionally for wear.  Replace worn hoses before they burst and flood your home.  Angle stops should also be inspected as they can freeze up over time.  If you should have a leak at a fixture or appliance, you need to know you can turn off the angle stop and prevent a major flood.  Inspect your home's main shut-off, also to be sure it will work should you need it.

And, don't forget to check the water pressure to your home periodically.  Water pressure is not a static figure.  Municipalities that supply residential water sometimes make changes to the water supply system, as when more residences are supplied with water from existing piping systems, for instance.  Or, water supply pipes themselves may deteriorate or undergo changes over time, from corrosion or build-up, which can change the pressure of the water being supplied by the pipe.  In addition, your water pressure can fluctuate depending on water demand at different times of the day or night. All of these situations can affect the pressure of the water coming into your home.  If that happens, any weakness in your plumbing system from worn hoses or minor leaks, can lead to a major flood.  Install a pressure regulating valve (PRV) to help prevent changes in water pressure and consequent plumbing problems in your home.   Once installed, the PRV should be included in your regular plumbing inspection to make sure it continues to work properly.

The cost of small preventative measures such as these is usually less than the deductible on most homeowner's policies, and definitely a worthwhile investment.

Visit our PLUMBING Repair - Service page for more information and special offers.
